What is Lizard?

Lizard is a fully automated Expert Advisor for XAUUSD (Gold) on MetaTrader 5. It uses a multi-strategy swing breakout system: the Expert Advisor identifies key structural levels on the chart and places pending stop orders at calculated entry points.

No martingale, no grid, no averaging into losses. Every trade is opened with a defined stop loss and take profit and is then managed by a multi-layer exit system, around the clock and without manual intervention.

How it works

Lizard continuously scans the XAUUSD chart on the hourly timeframe for significant swing highs and swing lows. Once a valid structure is identified, a buy stop or sell stop order is placed at a calibrated distance from the level. The order is triggered only by an actual breakout; simply touching the price is not enough. This removes weak moves from consideration and enters only on confirmed momentum.

Six independent strategies run at the same time on the hourly timeframe, each with its own stop loss and take profit, its own trailing system, its own magic number and its own risk weighting.

Features

The six strategies cover different market conditions, from short intraday breakouts to multi-day swing setups. Their activation depends on the account balance: up to 1000 USD zone A is active, from 1001 USD zone A and zone B are active.

A time filter blocks, for each strategy separately, those trading hours that show a profit factor below 1.0 in the historical evaluation based on world time.

The exit system works in several layers. Break even moves the stop loss to the entry price once a defined profit threshold is reached. The trailing stop loss follows the price and secures gains, while the trailing take profit adjusts the target dynamically. A step-based trail additionally allows staged progress of the stop loss. The virtual stop loss closes positions in software, independently of the broker.

A news filter pauses trading before and after the release of the US employment data. Open pending orders are removed automatically ahead of the daily market close window. For the rules of prop firm challenges, an input parameter for the maximum daily loss is available.

Trading rules

Lizard uses neither martingale nor grid and does not average into losses. Every position is opened with a stop loss. Trailing stop, break even, the news filter and the daily loss limit are part of the system.
